BIOGRAPHY/TIME LINE:

1988-Received a scholarship to the Art Center College of Design Saturday High Program in Product Design.
1990-Attended Pasadena City College for Film, Photography, Psychology, Sociology and Painting.
1991-Received a Ford Scholarship to Art Center College of Design for Transportation Design, then Photography and finally Film.
1992-Featured in the Pasadena City College Art Gallery show.
1992-Featured in the LACE(Los Angeles Contemporary Exibitions) Biennial Group Art Show in downtown Los Angeles.
1992-October 24. Had his first One Man Show entitled 'BAD ATTITUDE' at Troy Cafe and Gallery.
1993-July 18. Public screening for 'Cinema Nouveau', the underground film collective that Apollo put together to promote experimental/underground film. The screening was at Troy.
1993-August 22. 'Paul-Anthony-Al Fresco'. Had a full retrospective of his early film work at Troy. The films were projected on the outside wall of the cafe.
1993-Fall. Attended San Francisco State University for Film Directing.
1994-Co-wrote his first feature length screenplay with Bibbe Hansen called, Nowhere Fast, about Nick Valentine, a destitue ex-con, who upon release from prison, rescues his sister from a group home, falls in love with her, and then, due to an accidental squabble, is on the run from the North Beach Mafia in San Francisco, who he was supposed to work for after his release.
1994-Was awarded a certificate of Congratulations given by the City of Los Angeles for his recognition and participation in the '1994 International Latino Film Festival'.
1995-Graduated SFSU with a Bachelors degree in Film Production and Directing and moved back to Los Angeles to pursue film.
1996-Spring: Goes to NYC to direct a documentary on a Gang rehabilitation program located in the South Bronx district of NYC thru the Banna-Kelly Foundation. Apollo lives with Los Angeles and NY Gang members in a apt. building and shoots daily footage of their live while attending classes learning various trades in the Apt. restoration field.
Summer: Comes back from NY and works on Melrose Ave. as a window dresser for vintage clothing stores, Jet Rag and Slow.
1997-During this time, Apollo met Rick Royale of the band Rattled Roosters and was invited to host the then new tuesday night Glam night, called 'CLUB SUCK', that he was doing at the then nightclub 'Goldfingers' on Yucca and Cahuenga. Rick played guitar in the 70s Glam rock influenced house band of the night called 'POPism', aptly named after the Warhol Book.
1998- After a few articles were written and a short review of the night was featured in the Hollywood Buzz section of local magazines, the night was overrun with bridge and tunnel type normal everyday people who were there to do nothing more than to gawk at the circus freaks and try to take one home. The bar loved it since they were making 5 times as much on drinks, but we promptly shut the night down since the crowd was becoming a joke.
1998-February. Apollo and Tommy(Club Suck DJ) decided to open up a new once-a-month party with the original vibe that had become synonymous with the glam kids, subversives types, and destitute club kids that had been part of the scene in the beginning.
Thus, CLUB SUPERSTARR opens at the then Martini Lounge on Melrose and El Centro. A once-a-month theme freakfest that continuously showcased bizzarre upcoming talent and performances from local legends, and wannabe local legends. Performers included, Hollywoodlawn with Joe Dallesandro and Udo Kier, The Tommy Chiffon Band, The Roofies (Ex Celebrity Skin), TSAR, ChickenHawk(Big Daddy Carlos of The Velvet Margaritya), Drag personalities Vida DeVille and Bijoux Deluxe, including Fashion Shows from Serious clothing and Lip Service. It was also the first club to feature a live webcam broadcast of the night.(pics coming soon)
1998-November 25. Apollo and celebrity hairdresser, Cervando Maldonado, open club SHAMPOO at the Garage on Santa Monica and Virgil. This club was a bi-weekly spot to showcase hard rock and glam bands, and to accommodate the overwhelming desire of bands who wanted to play at the once-a-month club Superstarr.
1998- Summer. With business partner Wendy Caron, Apollo opens up SUPERSTAR
STUDIO(1st location) to accommodate the number of bands that were promised photoshoots in lieu of paying them to perform at SUPERSTARR and SHAMPOO.
